The final table of EPT Vilamoura is a surprise, because an old acquaintance of English football is among the three best players in the poker tournament which takes place in the Portuguese city. Teddy Sheringham gave the surprise on the last day to get into the final table with a points total of 1.173 million in chips.

At the moment Martin Jacobson has been dropped a dangerous area, because he has run with 441 000 points in chips, while the leader is the poker player in the UK, Toby Lewis which has a total of 3322. 000, very closely followed by compatriot Sam Trickett.

Guillermo García ‘Javiki’ could only be twelfth, staying with honey on his lips, made an all-in where no avail, since he was not left anything on the table and had to raise with resignation .

Distribution seats at the final table:

Seat 1, Teddy Sheringham (UK), 1.173 million

Trojans start post-Pete era in paradise

Posted by On September - 3 - 2010ADD COMMENTS

USC begins the 2010-11 season under NCAA sanctions that will not allow the team to strive for playing a bowl game. In fact, the roster has just 74 scholarship players with numerous players leaving the program due to the penalties placed against the program. The Trojans have yet to lose in six tries against Hawaii, including scoring 60-plus points in each of the last three meetings. The team has won its last 12 openers and its past 16 non-conference games.

The Trojans will be playing their first of a school-record seven road outings during the 2010-11 season and have lost just once in 30 games against WAC teams. The team has posted a 20-10-3 record on Thursdays, but most of those have taken place on Thanksgiving (11-6-3). New head coach Lane Kiffin inherited a team with 12 returning starters from the recently departed Pete Carroll, who is now up in the Pacific Northwest, coaching the Seattle Seahawks.

Hawaii looks to improve upon its 15-34 all-time mark against current members of the Pac-10 Conference and also pick up its first ever win over tonight’s opponent. The Rainbows are certainly capable due to recent results, tallying eight wins over BCS conference teams since 2003, tied for fifth-most nationally. The team has won its last two home games versus the conference, picking up a 24-10 win over Washington State in 2008 and beating Washington 35-28 in 2007.

The Rainbows bring in an experience group into this contest, tied with Louisville and TCU for the most seniors in the Football Bowl Subdivision with 27. The passing attack ranked in the top three nationally last season, but the offensive line will be in a rebuilding mode with four new starters.

Recommended Bet

From a betting perspective, the Trojans just have way too many unknown variables to back in this spot. We suggest backing the Rainbows (+21.5, -123) at its current odds and maybe grab an even better number closer to game time.

The Pittsburgh Panthers will be playing their first season opener on the road featuring Top 25 teams since its national title year in 1976. In fact, Pitt hasn’t opened a season on the road since 1993, when it defeated Southern Mississippi, 14-10. The Panthers last opened a season in the state of Utah in 1987, when they defeated BYU, 27-17.

The Panthers are a legitimate Big East contender after missing an opportunity to win the conference in a 45-44 loss to Cincinnati to end the 2009-10 season. The team has compiled a 20-7 record over the last 27 games, which is its winningest stretch since the 2001-03 seasons when they went 21-6. Dating back to 2007, Pittsburgh is 9-3 in its last 12 road contests, the best away stretch for the school since winning 13 in a row on the road over the 1980-82 seasons.

Utah puts its 17-game home winning streak on the line tonight and the team has also won its last three home games against ranked foes. The Utes beat No. 11 UCLA in 2007, No. 11 TCU in 2008 and No. 16 BYU in 2008. The team hopes to snap a winless streak in season-openers against a foe ranked in the Associated Press poll. Utah is 0-5 against AP ranked teams when kicking off the season.

The Utes have become a major player in the college football landscape, averaging 9.9 wins a season since 2003. In welcoming in a Big East opponent tonight, Utah has a good chance of improving its record to 8-0 against the conference. The team will be led by an offensive line that returns four starters and will be opening holes for two of the top running backs in the Mountain West Conference.

Recommended Bet

Bettors will be enticed to take the Panthers at the current match odds of +3.5 (1.75, -133), but we’re anticipating a market change. Hold out and wait to play Utah -3 if the odds change closer to game time
