Middle-Stack strategy by Asimov666

One of my usual rivals in the online tables that often plays as a short-stack, I drew attention because even though starts with their 15BB-20BB is not the typical player all-in or fold, but has some similar numbers to any deep-stack (13 wifi PFR 9). As I know has a medium-high PFR and insurance is increasing with hands type 22-AA, sett, KQ I like to push it with a similar rank to make him play coin-flips that often prefers to avoid. The point is that after having read some articles about me playing short-stack the line to confront those players, either aggressive or those who avoid playing only because Premiuns.

Everything changes when this player in particular increases its stack some 30BB-35BB, is not withdrawn to start over with 20BB but continues to play without their immutable, with it being something we could call middle-stack. The problem is that because I do not feel comfortable doing push type with one hand by AT 35BB and neither got enough to pay implied looking sets, hence I have to change and perform more 3-bets preflop, playing postflop looking for a hand or try to sort TPTK a bluff on occasions where it appears that this is not committed.

Searching the literature, I find that a middle-type stack does not have many advantages because it lacks the simplicity of the short game and you can not win a lot in one hand because you’re not deep. But that is advantageous or not, as everything in life I must say that depends on your particular form of gambling.

The basic argument of playing deep (100BB), at least those of the textbooks for beginners, is that you can win a lot is just one hand, but this rate falls by its own weight and that the opposite is also true.

The point is to decide which strategy to choose need to know and understand thoroughly how compelled you play better ‘to’ and not guided by reasons such as: “It’s the first I learned that,” “It is with which better to play poker, “Do not play something different,” and so on.

In my short experience in this business of poker as much as I have that many players can play very well but 35BB are compounded when they are playing more or less where they play.

Anyone is capable of playing with a 100BB September, but did not know anyone play with one hand the type TPTK / OP .

If you suffer from any of the following symptoms (like me xD) it is possible that your game is more suited to play middle-stack that deep-stack:

Do much contiuation-bet (70% -80%), but not doing much second-barrel, even with hands TPTK / OP choose to control the pit at the turn almost always, even with clear projects on the table.

  • Do you have a game type Weak-Tight seeking to play only full cartons with very strong hands.

  • Do you have a low call to 3-bet because they’re always thinking it is implied that you do not have enough to match

  • When you do raise your c-bet the flop in many cases chose not to follow in his hand because your hand is not as strong and think it’s betting will be even larger rival in the turn and the river, and your Hand is unlikely to improve.

  • We are bluffeando in the river with excessive gambling which can not pay with your hand.

Being deep in a table should allow you to feel confident in the table and intimidate your opponents because they know that at any moment can play a big hole when you face ‘to’ and not passing it, where it yourself intimidates you stack .
You must internalize that

the main goal of having the full stack is not able to duplicate the most when ligues nuts, but use the stack as a weapon

to make profitable bluff, make overbets to confuse, make 3-bets without postflop remain committed, and so on.
If you’re playing middle-stack we see some examples that we should not do that:

DO

You must continue with a high level of aggressiveness, as both preflop postflop.

  • If you decide to play a couple enters raise, your opponents will not have to pay many implicit with other peers.
  • Please note that pay 3-bets preflop you leave very committed so well calculated to whom or with hands that make these calls. If your opponent makes much light 3-bet you can raise all-in more easily.
  • Most of your hands if you were raised preflop will give you an MMR of 4 or less, so you should do push all-in followed with more hands-type TPTK.

AVOID

Open pairs preflop looking sets, rarely justify the implicit call, not to be cases as possible is when many rivals see the flop. Suited also applies to low-Connectors.

  • Play “fit or fold” postflop, you must continue your game to make your c-bet before the flop that you also seemed favorable to do so, even if not ligaste nothing in common cards.
  • All-in preflop with hands like AJ, AQ, KQ, normally when you pay preflop 35BB is that your opponent carries at least pairs or AK high.
  • Independent that after reading this article keep playing as we were coming to or make some changes in your game, the most important thing is that you take the concept and a warning not to do things just because we read and take as true, without first having meditated, internalized, as in test and have drawn the conclusions yourself about what is the best strategy that suits your style

Deep-stack, middle-or short-stack stack, it really does not matter which practice as long as you know what you do …. and especially since .
